1 Samuel 2:1 – 15

Luke 1:46 – 56

The characters of Mary and Hannah to me are one of quite confidence. Why you may ask do I think this? It is because I them as being totally devoted to God in there obedience to the will of the father and I both cases the out come would of really have ruffled the feather of those around them.

So what can we learn from their prayers?

1.       The Lord will ordain what is best for us when the time is the best for him not us.

2.       God providence can come from unexpected places.

3.       We need to really to be open and really listen to God.

4.       We must not be big headed in our request to God.

5.       However we may feel we must submit to the will of the Father for it is in these times of submission that he will really bless us.

6.       From their prayer we can also learn that being selfless is a valuable tool in God mercy.

7.       I also liked the way they both continually prayed and pondered on God. How often do we really ponder what God want for us?

8.       I also loved the fact that these women we totally fearless when it came to doing the will of the father. The gained their power from the will of the father

Hannah craved a child and Mary conceived the most amazing child and by their self less attitude to God he blessed them abundantly.

What an example to prayer and it answers they both are?

How can we put into practice their example of submission to prayer?

Group Question

1.       In our busy lives, where do we really find spaces of silence to really open our heart to God? May-be share your tips with the rest of the group?

2.       Can you share a time when prayer was answered in an unexpected way?

3.       Take time to pause and think of those things we really need to submit to God. If you can share it with the group please share it with the group and then get the group to pray about it.

Now take time to pause and think of those things we really need to be thankful about or a time where prayer was answered. If you can share it with the group please share it with the group and then get the group to pray about it in thanksgiving.
